Trevor's Travels

My natural cynicism always warns me off people and groups who appear to be working entirely for the common good of the rest of us. Sadly, a look at the financials mostly proves the hollowness of their stated objectives.  [...More]

Japan has changed, but it's still charming
For a modern businessman a visit to Japan may not seem so very different as a visit to any modern city. A taxi from the airport; a new hotel; being picked up the next morning; and a long day of meetings before returning to the airport will not give you much of an idea of the place. [...More]

Normally, my columns are restricted to places where people can go on a day trip in or just outside the Inland Empire.  [...More]

Take off at the Redlands airport
'We'll meet under the beacon," was the suggested arrangement. Not being an aviator, I wasn't quite sure what that meant, but not wishing to show my ignorance I agreed. [...More]

I know there's the expression: One man's trash is another man's treasure. I'm not too sure about it, myself, but it certainly summarizes the work of Elmer Long out in the desert near Oro Grande. [...More]

Perhaps living in the San Bernardino Mountains has poisoned me for the other wonderful mountain ranges in our area. Perhaps it's a misplaced sense of regionalism. But the truth is I don't often travel to the San Gabriels, the Tehachapis or the San Jacintos.  [...More]

The sky's the limit at Keller Peak
"Breathtaking" is a very overworked adjective these days. But once you climb the stairs to the fire lookout at Keller Peak, the view can only be described as such. [...More]
